Syllabus: This course examines quantitative methods to support energy transition and inform climate-change mitigation policies. Students will learn about widely used software tools in the field, such as LEAP and NEMO, to assess energy transition pathways and policies. The course covers the analysis of energy demand and supply for different economic sectors as they navigate the shift toward low-carbon energy systems. Mathematical models will be utilized to identify optimal policies and energy transition scenarios. Finally, students will learn how to perform a cost-benefit analysis to quantify the effects of the identified scenarios.
Completed the Leave No Trace 101 certification, delivered by Leave No Trace — the national nonprofit dedicated to outdoor ethics — in partnership with the Urban Connections programme run by the US Forest Service. The course covers the science behind the seven principles of Leave No Trace and how small, everyday choices add up to protect shared outdoor spaces.
The Leave No Trace in Daily Life
course focuses on extending the seven principles of Leave No Trace beyond trails and campsites into everyday choices — waste,
energy use, transportation, and purchasing decisions — that add up at scale when practised consistently.

It covers ways to identify reliable climate and weather projection data, use it to assess business risk from extreme weather and climate variability, and apply forecast data — illustrated through sector case studies — to strategic decision-making.
